The Philippine Food and Drug Administration is emerging from the Dark ages. A major change is happening in the bureau as of this moment. From many different divisions to 4 Centers:
– Center for Drug Regulation and Research
– Center for Food Regulation and Research
– Center for Cosmetics Regulations and Research
– Center for Device Regulation, Radiation, Health and Research
From submission of technical documents in hard copy to E-copy submission. From Bureau of Food and Drugs to an ISO Certified Food and Drug Administration . Our government is really serious in implementing good governance and speedy process of company and product registration which they should be since the FDA has the power to all the consumer items each individual need.
They will also implement that only accredited regulatory affairs managers or corporate pharmacist will be the one to transact with the Bureau. They will conduct trainings and seminars for accreditation and will provide certificates and identifications.
We will be expecting a lot of changes during the first 2 quarters of 2013. We will post the new regulations and process for registration as soon as everything has been finalized by the Bureau.
